The Evolution of a Family Room

So, this week our goal was to have the painters start painting and the carpenters start...er, hammering, but that is likely not to start until next Monday. Boo!

I did have to meet someone over at HouseFour today to have a little job done, and while he was completing that, my hubby had the kids, so what's a girl to do but SHOP! I headed off to Pier1 (anyone who's ever tried to navigate through this store with a stroller or anyone under the age of 15 knows this to be a nightmare so I definitely took advantage of my "alone time") to take a look at some goodies, and I found some indeed!

Truly though I have been wanting to get started on our family room (well as much as one can do without taking her husbands beloved bigscreen from him, not to mention his sofa and ottoman right out from literally under his feet!).  The family room and kitchen area is pretty well the only areas in the house that we are not painting (yet) so I figured it was safe to get a move on here.

This is how the family room area looked the day we closed on HouseFour...

Yes, I am loving all those built-ins and, no I am not entirely sure what size of television is supposed to fill that humungous, gigantic hole.

Here are a few family room inspiration photos I have gathered from Pinterest...

We currently own this sofa (and matching loveseat and ottoman) from Bassett Furniture...
What I was looking for at Pier1 was this (or two of them actually)...

They only had one in stock and so she came home with me, along with a cushion on clearance...once I got her back to HouseFour though I was not loving my clearance cushion and decided to take it back...until I (finally!) received my fabric samples from Dwell.

I tried some these out over top of the cushion to see if any would be suitable for covers (and this is where I could use some advice if anyone out there is reading).  Here are my options...with the fabric close-up below each (iPhone pics...sorry)...

Or I could just return the cushion for the natural color one and add the fabrics as throw pillows...hmmm.

Also, you may have noticed a few other goodies in those pics.  A few weeks ago I scored this rug brand new from eBay...

In my chair photos above it's layered over a gold rug that will be replaced by this jute one from Overstock soon (I believe I ordered the beige option)...

Also, this table that I assembled today from Kirklands may find a home in the family room also...

These drapes are coming with me from our current home over to HouseFour's family room...

And this console table is also on its way from overstock...

Add a few goodies onto all those shelves and we should be good to go!
So tell me, what should I do about those fabric options?
