I've been making some progress in our guest space lately that I thought I would share with you today.
We are so, so happy to finally have a space designated just for our guests.
In our old home we had 4 bedrooms, and with three kiddos that left nowhere for our guests to really claim as their own space...to really put their things, hang their clothes up, relax, escape from my crazy kids, or get a restful, child-free sleep. Typically our guests are Grandparents, and no, they never complained about their lack of privacy, but I know it was not ideal having to sleep with a kiddo everynight (we always designated one of the kids rooms for them but eventually they would end up slpitting up and each of them having a "slumber" party with a child every night and playing musical bedrooms. Not fun for anyone (except maybe the kids!)
So, I've been working hard to make our new guest space into a retreat. It's off of the house, but connected to the garage so it will be so nice to go to bed at night, get a restful sleep, and not hear any of our morning commotion until they decide they want to come in and join us.
We painted it a nice peaceful grey and bought a queen-sized bed (headboard from Pier1 Imports)...then it was time to accessorize!
I found the bedding at Home Goods and also the mirror (for only $29.99!)
The nightstands both came from Kirklands...you'll notice the pale cream one still has the tags attached...that's because I just picked it up today and I've already told you about my tendency to be a "cautious keeper" (I think this is a keeper though...it was a decent price at $69.99 and already assembled - score!)
A few more photos of the bed/bedding...
Here we are looking into the bathroom..also painted grey and accessorized with a pretty towel pattern (from Target)
I love banana leaf anything!
My in-laws are arriving in about 3 weeks so I have a few more things to finish up (add more drapery rings to my sad, sagging panels & install a wall-mounted TV).
I hope they enjoy their new space they'll have all to themselves!
